About Us

The founder of BirthPrep is Cathy Mullen, a midwife with 34 years experience and mother of four. Cathy is experienced in assisting women during active birth and water birth as well as supporting women through the more 'high-tech' birthing process involving induction, epidurals, and assisted births: ventouse, forceps and caesarean section.

"During my career I have helped thousands of women give birth. I launched BirthPrep in 2010 because there were just not enough antenatal classes. When couples had attended antenatal classes sometimes they had been given wrong information. I am passionate about what I do. My aim is to deliver great courses, bringing people together who otherwise wouldn't have met and and have some fun along the way. I want to give people the knowledge that I had when I was having my children.'' Cathy Mullen

All BirthPrep midwives are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and are members of the Royal College of Midwives. Everything they teach is based on the latest evidence and on their experience.

Work with us - Are you a midwife who would like to teach your own antenatal classes?

We are currently looking for expressions of interest from experienced midwives interested in facilitating our one day antenatal classes later this year.
Training will be given but you will need to be able to facilitate a group and provide unbiased information. If that sounds like you it would be lovely to hear from you. You can get in touch through our contact page.
