About Us
The founder of BirthPrep is Cathy Mullen, an experienced midwife and mother of four. Based in Wakefield Cathy's work involves assisting women every day during active birth and water birth as well as supporting women through the more 'high-tech' birthing process involving induction, epidurals, and assisted births: ventouse, forceps and caesarean section.
"During my career I have helped thousands of women give birth. I launched BirthPrep in 2010 because there were just not enough antenatal classes. I am passionate about what I do. My aim is to deliver great courses, bringing people together who otherwise wouldn't have met and and have some fun along the way. I want to give people the knowledge that I had when I was having my children.
I believe that the right birth preparation can make a big difference to birth experience and even outcome. I work with some fantastic midwives who share my philosophy who I trust and respect''. Cathy Mullen
All BirthPrep midwives are working in the NHS and have significant labour and birth experience. They are registered with The Nursing and Midwifery Council and are insured by the Royal College of Midwives to provide private antenatal education.
Information For Health Professionals
Local Policies - Couples who attend our classes are booked to have their babies at maternity units all over Yorkshire. We take care to make sure they receive accurate information about local policies such as induction and choices for pain relief. If you have any questions please contact Cathy Mullen. |
